דו"ח רכיבה 21/04/07 - מאת אבי 
עקבות הפרסום של חברת כביש 6 כי מיד לאחר פסח, יפתחו שבילי האופניים לאורך הכביש בשני קטעים, החלטנו לבדוק את הקטע הדרומי , בין מחלף שורק למחלף נשרים. נפגשנו בצומת רעננה ,משם בשיירת רכבים על כביש 40 , לאחר מחלף רמלוד פנינו מזרחה דרך מושב מצליח לאורך כביש המשרת את חקלאי המושבים ,המשכנו דרך השדות הגובלים בחלקו המזרחי של קיבוץ נען עד לגדרות תחנת הדלק הממוקמת על כביש 6. לדרך יצאנו 18 רוכבים במזג אויר שלא יכול להיות יותר טוב שדות ירוקים מסביב שמים כחולים מעל , דרך מסודרת אותה הכינו עבורנו. נראה היה שבטיול זה לא תהיה בעיית עבירות ובטוח שבבוץ לא ניתקל ונקיים נחזור הביתה גם אנחנו וגם האופניים. התקדמנו דרומה בין שדות הישובים גני הדר רמות מאיר ויציץ עברנו ליד שמורת עינות גיבתון ,חצינו את הכביש המחבר את צומת בילו עם קבוץ חלדה ועמק איילון.(למעשה זהו הקטע של הכביש הראשי לירושלים לפני מלחמת השחרור). המשכנו בדרכינו ולא ידענו איזה דרמה ממתינה לנו. נוכחנו לדעת שמתכנני ומסמני הדרך לא הקפידו לשלט את הקטעים הבעיתיים כך שמדי פעם בדקנו ואלתרנו מעברים משלנו. כך קרה לאחד מהחבורה שכרגע אינני זוכר את שמו ,היה לו חשש שהדרך לא בטוחה לרכיבה ,ירד מאופניו ובדק רגלית את הדרך, פסיעה ועוד פסיעה ובשלישית מצא הבחור את עצמו נשאב לתוך הביצה מבלי יכולת להחלץ בכוחות עצמו. למזלו מוני שרכב אחריו לא חשב פעמיים הזעיק את הצלמים ובעצמו הסתכן הציל ראשית את האופניים ולאחר מכן את שחיין הבוץ. מה אומר העיקר סוף טוב הכל טוב. המשכנו בדרכנו מספר הרוכבים לא השתנה למרות מה שקרה. תמונות ההנצחה מדברות בעד עצמן. הגענו למחלף שורק חצינו את כביש 6 לצידו המזרחי והתחלנו לחזור צפונה. הצד המזרחי פחות מסודר הדרכים חקלאיות הדרך חוצה מספר נחלים(שורק, נחל השלשה ,נחל עקרון) . במספר מקומות היינו צריכים לסטות מהדרך המקורית ולהמשיך בדרך משלנו. הצגת יחיד נוספת הייתה לנו בהמשך הדרך כאשר דאינה החליטה להפגין שליטה בירידה לנחל ויציאה ממנו תוך כדי סלטה באוויר ונחיתה חזרה לאוכף. התוצאות מופיעות בתמונות המצורפות. זהו לאחר דרך יפה מזג אוויר נהדר 27 ק"מ חוויות לא מתוכננות הגענו לנקודת ההתחלה ולקפה. מי שלא הגיע הפסיד שבת נהדרת וחבורה מופלאה. חג שמח ולהתראות בשבת הבאה.                  

Ride Report: 14th April 2007 - North - by Hylton
Well I suppose that as today was a special day for me, I am the one who was coerced by our illustrious web master Martin, together with some encouragement from David (ve haf veys unt means) to do this week’s shpiel. It wasn’t actually my birthday today. That will be on the 30th of April, but as I will be away celebrating our 60th with my twin brother, Malcolm in San Francisco, I wanted very much to have a little “party” for riding group members, something that I hoped would be a little memorable. And, believe me, IT WAS!!! Firstly to the ride itself. 22 riders started off from Ra’anana including two newcomers, Joyce and Ryan (welcome and hope to see you regularly). I have no idea of the details of the route itself although I suppose that if I went into the CYCLENIX web site, “copied and pasted” the ride of three weeks ago, or was it four weeks or possibly two months or earlier into this write up, no-one, least of all me, would be able to tell whether these were MY words here rather than Ted’s, or David’s, or Daniel’s or Craig’s. No matter, most of us know where we rode, and other than a few mishaps along the way; major surgery performed on the chain of one two wheeled steed by Ted, ably assisted by David and 16 or 17 others all providing an opinion, I spent my time following the leaders and thinking about the “pit stop” at Matuta where my wife Gill would arrive with cheese cake and apple tart which would go well together with some welcome hot or cold beverage. We finally arrived at Matuta; Gill was there with the grub, only to be told that they were catering for an event and the place was closed. What to do? We rode up the road to our second choice stop and gathered around the large table. Gill brought out the tarts and as we began cutting….. well I won’t go into the details. Suffice it to say we found a patch of grass next to the coffee place, sat around and ate great cheese cake and apple tart, sans the liquid refreshment!!!!! Sorry guys, perhaps I should have checked beforehand at Matuta. Thanks to all of you for being there with me and sticking around with the parched look on your faces. See you all in about a month.

Ride Report:  07 April 2007 - It's good to be back - by Candy
What a thrill for me it was, to be back again with Cyclenix. To me the route today was of secondary importance! It's true that I have kept in touch with my weekly e-mails but riding with the group again was really something special. Thank you all for the reception that I received and a special "thank you" to Ingrid for making her back wheel available!!!!  We had two new riders with us today, Olga and Shane (my son). I hope that you both enjoyed the experience and that we'll see you both regularly on our future rides. The route we took was to the East of Ra'anana., a nice change from our regular North West routes. We (19 riders in all) started off from our regular meeting place in Ra'anana and made our way to Givat Chen travelling through the fields of flowers and the pardesim to the highest point in the area. We then descended down a nice fast sandy stretch before making our way across Highway 4 (Geha) via the bridge just to the North of TAAS into Hod Hasharon turning South and joining Shvil Israel along the Yarkon River. Lots of the paths we took were such that we had to concentrate on the riding to avoid getting caught in the many ruts that tested our control of our bikes. The colour green was predominant (including some nice patches of green thorn bushes!!!) and it was clear that Spring had arrived. We proceeded East crossing under the Hotzei Shomron Highway where we rejoined the Yarkon. We then continued along the Eastern banks to the Southern border of Yarkon National Park travelling Eastwards again until we headed North at the Rosh Ha'Ayin railway station. From there we continued to Moshav Elishema. Travelling through Elishema we made our way to Hod Hasharon and on to Ra'anana. The total distance travelled was 35 kilometres. Today's ride really gave us a bit of everything.......sand, tricky sections of track that had to be negotiated with care and precision, downhills, a few uphills, even a little mud for those who wanted it and a river crossing that didn't have to be negotiated but which I did (just for fun). The only thing that was missing was a refreshment stop!!! However, rest assured, NEXT WEEK THERE WILL BE A REFRESHMENT STOP!!! What else can I add, except that it was so good to be back. The company was, as usual, the best. It's really the company that always makes the ride, whatever the route may be.
